Beautiful Scenery in Palo Duro Canyon, U.S



Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest Canyon in the United States, located in the Texas Panhandle near Amarillo. More precisely located in upland areas of Texas in the northwestern part of the State of South and East Amarillo only from the city of Canyon.

Early Spanish explorers are believed to have discovered the area and dubbed the canyon "Palo Duro" which is Spanish for "hard wood" in reference to the abundant mesquite and juniper trees. Palo Duro Canyon has 120 miles long, up to 20 miles wide, and up to 820 meters, so the United States the second largest canyon. The canyon is formed by the River Prairie Dog Town Fork Red originally winds along the surface level of Llano Estacado of West Texas. Water erosion over thousands of years have shaped the canyon geological formations. The beauty of the unexpected lies ahead when one enters into a spectacular canyon.
